Inaugurated in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella in the pavilions of the Fiera di Milano - Rho, the Supersalone , the special event of the Salone del Mobile, curated by the architect Stefano Boeri , marks the restart in the post-pandemic. The lights are back and the queues are back even in the Fuorisalone places far from the traditional routes. There are 425 brands present in the four pavilions and 1,900 projects on display. To welcome visitors at the entrance to the Milan-Rho Fair there is a green barrier formed by a hundred trees, a sort of small forest created with the collaboration between the Salone del Mobile and Forestami, the project that plans to plant 3 millions of trees in the metropolitan city of Milan by 2030. The forest does not stop at the entrance, but winds right into the heart of the event: another hundred tall trees have been positioned within the various exhibition areas and relaxation areas . An edition, this year, marked by numerous innovations, daughters of the year and a half of the pandemic that the country has experienced and which also caused the cancellation of the event in 2020. No more real stands, but spaces dedicated to participating companies on long walls in recyclable wood, which host the numerous shades of soft colors of chairs, beds and kitchens exhibited both for large buyers in the sector and for small consumers. The Salone and the Fuorisalone together make Milan a world platform for design ", declares architect Stefano Boeri, curator of this year's edition. Maria Porro also speaks about the restart, defining the Salone" a real detonator that has revived a city and an entire creative sector that produces in Italy ".

Taking up the challenge launched by the architect Boeri, to replace the customostand made up of environments and rooms, Cattelan Italia brings to the stage a museum-like setting. The composition takes inspiration from a famous work by Kandinsky, in which the canvas becomes a theatrical scenography, divided by shapes and colors like a rhythmic score. The Cattelan Italia exhibition space is layered and only the overall view allows you to appreciate the melody. The furnishings presented replace the pictorial signs and are framed, on the back wall, by the set of products and graphic expedients. The exhibition is to be admired in its entirety, just like a work of art, in which the protagonists are the novelty products of great visual impact, combined with iconic pieces of the company, which allow you to tell the unique style and quality by Cattelan Italia
